Setting Up Reminders by a Phone
This function is not open to free service.
Before you make phone call, input the number
of the phone that you are going to use.
Setting up a reminder by phone is easy. It only takes four steps:
- Call 732-947-4281.
- Record a voice message.
- Say or key in a remind date.
- Say or key in a remind time.
Notes
Reminders set up by phone automatically will be recorded and sent to your
6channel6 account.
Reminders set up by phone follow this simple format:
Hello [first name + last name]. Please listen to this voice message: [the recording
plays]
The reminder will show up in your 6channel6 account and can be modified or deleted there.
The reminder will only go back to the phone from which the call was made. In other words,
only the phone used to set up the reminder will receive the reminder.
The reminder cannot be copied, made into a recurring reminder, or sent via text message or
fax.
The voice recording file by itself cannot be deleted, however, the entire reminder can be deleted.
You can press a key to stop recording, useful for areas with a lot of background
noise.
When you finish recording, just remain silent. The recording will be played back for
your confirmation. You can record over it if you want to change it.
The maximum length of a recording is two minutes
For testing purposes, say OK or press the # key when you are asked to confirm a recording.
You will receive a call back aout one minute later.
Caller ID will be used to determine who is calling and route the reminder to the
correct account.
Unfortunately, phone number that don't register in Caller ID cannot be detected and,
therefore, cannot be used to set up reminders.
Technically, we have the capability to allow a caller to key in a phone number
or user ID along with a security PIN. However, we haven't implemented this
ability because it makes it too easy for spammers to abuse our service and we
couldn't guarantee that only a phone owned by the person who placed the call
would receive the message.
The phone number you call from must be registered on our web site so we can
route the call back to your account.
If it isn't, please add it to your devices list by going to the
Set Up Device page.
You can set up reminders for yourself and for others in the same household.
When multiple people in a household sign up for our service,
the same home phone number may be registered under multiple names.
In that case, the list of users registered under that phone number will be read
before you start setting up a reminder.
After your name is read, say "OK" or press 1 to select your name.
If you remain silent, the system will proceed to read the next name automatically.
When it reaches the end of the list, it will start over.
