You have to admit, being able to have a virtual reminder is pretty cool.

I have developed an online application for a volunteer group that provides rides to seniors
to the grocery store, doctors, etc and is supported by volunteer drivers.
I has provided almost 3000 rides in less than 2 years.
It was in need of a feature of being able to remind the driver by calling them
the night before and I considered writing my own service.
I stumbled upon 6channel6 and I love the service.
It was not only easy to integrate my system with it,

the subject line of the emails can be whatever you want it to be.
you can do weekly, daily, just one-time reminders, whatever.
or you can get a text to your cell phone, or a call to your house! it's pretty neat.

So I looked around and found http://www.6channel6.com free "reminder service". Very versitile.
I set it up to phone the Netzero voicemail number every two weeks for next year
with a very short non-sense message. Should work as long as everybody stays in buisiness.
I dont see how this reminder service is set to ever make any money,
but of the free phone home services, this did exactly what I want.
It really is intended to remind you of appointments or send out messages to a group
like a church group or something. They dont want you using it to do phone spam and
will hold you accountable if you do. Would do wake up calls since you can set exact
time you want it to call you. |

The text to speech is amazing and is the most "life-like" human (pleasant female voice) I've ever heard.
I use it all the time to remind myself of import dates and events.
6channel6.com let you send a text-to-voice message and
you can even send a message as a text message to a cell phone.
Now they even set it up to work on Microsoft Outlook! And did I say "it's free!" We love it.

It took me about 30 minutes to find a free wake up call service.
Everyone says to use an alarm clock or cell phone and doesn't see a point in wake up call
or reminder services, but my clock's alarm doesn't want to turn on and
my cell phone screen is dead (making it possible to receive calls,
and to some extent make calls, but not to set an alarm which
requires menu navigation) You guys rock, thanks for providing
such a great service at no cost. I don't know what your
eventual profit ideas are, but listening to ads before/after
the reminder would be more than tolerable to cover toll charges.

I will be upgrading to take advantage of more calls.
I'm still testing out some things. For one, when I send a longer 1024 character message
it cuts off before the entire message has been delivered.
Not sure why, but I will be sending that same test message again today and see how it goes.
Overall, I think this is a great program you are running and
I can't wait for the new features to come out.
I will be promoting the use of it to my "small" but growing online group as well.

so I can input or view the schedule any time anywhere. The only thing I am concerned
is how reliable it is. What if the server crash and I lost all my schedule? If you
can add print function, we can at least get a hard copy of our schedule. Now I totally
rely on your web, it will be a nightmare if for any reason I lost schedule information. |
