A footnote is the text appended to phone, email, instant message and fax reminders. It can be your company's name, cancellation policy, or things you have always wanted to say to your clients.

Currently, there is only one footnote. It will be played back over the phone, and will also appear on emails, instant messages and fax.

With free service, there is always a 6Channel6 footnote. With premium service, it is removed and you can add your own.

When a phone reminder fails to go through, we will retry up to three times. If nobody picks up by then, then there is nobody available to answer. To ensure that important reminders reach your client, we have added a feature to "call again automatically at the best time you choose". When enabled, you can select the best time, such as during dinner when most people are home, to call again automatically.

Here is how to set it up: In the Customize Reminder tab of the Set Preferences page, there is an option saying "If a call cannot go through, call again automatically on the same day at:". Select the best time that you believe people can be reached. Whenever a call fails after 3 retries, and if the time specified has not passed, the system will automatically add this time to the reminder. This will save you even more time and labor, and keep your mind at peace.

You have the freedom to choose whatever music you like, as long as they are in .wav format. There is no pre-approved list for you to choose from. You have to upload the music file yourself. For example, one of our customers has uploaded and has been using the "Windows XP StartUp.wav" file located in the "C:\Windows\Media" folder.

The music file can be uploaded from the Set Preference page Reminder Format tab. There are 2 ways to navigate there. After logging in, click the Customize Reminder Format link on the home page. Alternately, you can highlight the Account tab and select Preferences. Then, click the Edit link in the 3rd frame with the title "Reminder Format".
In the Set Preference page, check the option to "Play music at the end of phone reminders" at the bottom of the page. Click the "Upload" link to upload a .wav file, and click the Submit button or link to save the settings.

This setup only needs to be done once.

If you want to stop playing the music, but still keep the music file for future use, you can simply uncheck "Play music at the end of phone reminder".

1. To record your message using a computer:
   If you are using Windows XP, the standard recording software is called Sound Recorder. Off of the Start Menu it is located in All Programs->Accessories->Entertainment. Professional recording software is also available.
   You can also make a recording by calling 732-658-9111. However, the sound quality of a recording made in this way is less than ideal. You must speak loudly for the volume of the recording to be normal.
2. To upload the recorded file:
   Go to the Create an Event or Reminder page. On the right side under the Attachment heading, click the Upload link to upload the file you want attached to the reminder. Finish setting up the reminder and click the Save button.
3. To preview a phone reminder:
   Go to the Detail of an Event or Reminder page. Click on Preview Phone Reminder in the Notify My Contacts section.
4. Alternately, to preview a phone reminder you can set yourself up as one of your own contacts and then send a voice recording to yourself.
   

Record your message in the desired language and customize the format of the phone reminder so that the system will only play your recording.

1. Go to the Customize Reminder Format page.
   To get there, on the home page after you sign in, click on the Customize Reminder Format link (in the middle of the page). Alternately, highlight the Account tab on the menu bar at the top of the page, click on Preferences and then in the Reminder Format section click on the Edit link.
2. Check the box next to Customize phone reminders sent to your clients:
3. Check the box next to Skip the HELLO LINE.
4. Highlight the button next to Skip the SOURCE LINE.
5. Highlight the button next to Skip entire SUBJECT LINE.
6. Highlight the button next to Skip the EVENT TIME LINE.
7. Highlight the button next to Omit the PREFACE OF DESCRIPTION.
8. Highlight the button next to Omit the PREFACE OF ATTACHMENT.
9. Highlight the button next to Skip the REPEAT LINE.
10. Make sure the box next to Require listener to confirm is unchecked.
    Make sure the box next to Allow listener to hear the event time again is unchecked.
11. Click the Show Customization Results link and confirm that everything is set up properly.
12. Click on the Submit button.

Once customized in this manner, the only English left will be "Goodbye" at the end of the reminder.
