What is 6channel6 Desktop Reminder?
The 6channel6 Desktop Reminder is a desktop application that allows you to manage your events without going to the website. You can view, create, modify, and delete any of the events in your calendar. Any reminders that you set or create from the application will automatically pop up on your screen when the specified time arrives.
What are the requirements?
You must have an account to use Desktop Reminders. If you do not have one, please open an free account.
The computer that you are installing Desktop Reminders on must have an active Internet connection when the application is running. If there is no active Internet connection, the application will not work.
Why can't I install this?
You must be a local administrator or a member of the local administrators group of your computer in order to install. You must also have Microsoft .NET 2.0. If your computer does not have this, the setup will prompt you, and then download and install it.
Why can't I log in?
There are three ways to change the details of an event or reminder.
If you do have a free account, it's possible that you have entered your user ID or password wrong. If you do not remember your user ID or password, you can recover id and pass.
How do I view my events and reminders?
- To view your events, click the View Events button on the toolbar.
Your events will be shown one at a time, organized by event time. - To view the previous event, click the Previous button on the toolbar.
- To view the next event, click the Next button on the toolbar.
- If there are no more events to display, the corresponding button will be disabled.
- If you have no events in your calendar, no events will be displayed.
How do I create an event or reminder?
To create an event, click the Create Event button on the toolbar. You will be taken to Create mode. Fill out the event subject, date and time, and check whether or not to have a reminder sent to you at that time. When you are satisfied, click the Save button to save your event. You will be taken to View mode to view your newly created reminder.
Note: Events must have a nonblank subject, and if the reminder is set, the date and time must be in the future.
How do I modify an event or reminder?
To modify a selected event, click the Modify Event button on the toolbar. You will be taken to Modify mode. Change the event subject, date, time, and whether or not to have a reminder sent to you at that time. When you are satisfied, click the Save button to save your event. You will be taken to View mode to view your modified reminder.
Note: Modified events must have a nonblank subject, and if the reminder is set, the date and time must be in the future.
How do I delete an event or reminder?
To delete a selected event, click the Delete Event button on the toolbar. You will be asked to confirm you choice. If you click OK, the selected event will be deleted forever. This cannot be undone!
What does 'refresh events' do?
If you change an event on the 6channel6 website, click the Refresh Events button on the toolbar. This will synchronize the events between the website and the desktop application. If you do not refresh your events when you change them on the website, the active reminder may not pop up.
