About Devices
  1. Your email , phone , text message (sms) , instant message , and fax are generically called devices. Phone numbers, email addresses, instant messenger accounts, and fax numbers are generically called device addresses.

Because we offer the convenience of dealing with so many different types of communication devices from a single interface, we use the generic term device instead of specific terms like telephone or email.

  2. We provide two kinds of text message reminders: plus and regular.

    Regular text messaging:

    • It is displayed on our products as "Text Message", or "Text".
    • To use it, check the box of "Have Text Message" and select a cell phone company from the list in the Setup Devices (easy mode) page. Cell Phone Company is required.
    • The text message is sent over the Internet.
    • Message delivery is normally faster than Text Message Plus. However, it may be delayed by related service providers (up to 15 minutes).
    • Message may be lost so you may not always receive them.
    • The iPhone does not support it.
    • We don't charge you a cent. They are free.
    • We don't impose usage cap. They are unlimited.
    • Check with your phone company that you can receive text message over the Internet.

    Text Message Plus:

    • It is displayed on our products as "Text Message Plus", "Text Message+", or "Text+".
    • To use it, just check the box of "Have Text Message" in the Setup Devices (easy mode) page. Cell Phone Company is not required. All we need is just a cell phone number.
    • Text messages are sent over the air.
    • Messages will not be delayed or lost.
    • Supported by all cell phone company.
    • For free basic service, texts are limited to 20 per month together with phone and Fax. For premium service, they are treated as phone calls.
  3. We support three major instant messenger services: AIM, MSN, and Yahoo.
  4. Signup Email, Home Email, Work Email, Home Phone, Work Phone, and Cell Phone are standard Device Memo used to describe the way a device is used.
  5. Quick Reminders are sent automatically to your Default devices and only to your default devices. Your Default devices are also pre-selected on the Remind Myself and Reminder Wizard pages.
When you sign up, your signup email is automatically set as the default.
You can save time by adding the devices you use most to your default devices.
  6. There is no limit on how many devices you can add to the system although the Setup Devices (easy mode) page handles eleven devices at most. When you have more than eleven devices or two devices of the same type (i.e. two cell phones), use the Setup Devices (advanced mode) page to add them to the system.
  7. For your contacts, the number of devices is limited to eleven (and no more than one of each type though of course you could add any three phone numbers even if, for example, they are all cell phones by putting one each in the home and work phone boxes). There is no advanced mode where you can add devices that don't fit on the Create Contacts page.
  8. When sending out reminders to groups through the Details of an Event or Reminder page, you can select a type of device for the group to receive its reminders on. If you haven't added the type of device (such as a phone) you're selected for a specific contact in that group, then the contact won't receive a reminder sent through that device.
